Pat and I joined Great Expectations at the same time. Neither one of us had dated anyone else in the service and were each other’s first dates immediately after becoming members!

From that first moment when I saw him walking across the parking lot on our first date, I knew and said to myself “Oh yes, this will work”. That was 13 years ago, March 2nd. I will not say that there haven’t been rocky moments but through it all we have come out the other side together.

As we were fixing dinner tonight, we were talking about the great deal of time that we spend together and what each of us does that bugs the other. His response was that I tend to wait until he gets upstairs before I ask him something and he has to come back downstairs to find out what I said (we live in a tri-level house). Pat could not come up with anything else (or at least he was not admitting to anything else); he says he “Is happy”. MY complaint about HIM is that he doesn’t talk enough but that when he does say something it is right, period (even if he’s wrong). I know that there is no point in arguing because I know I am not going to win and besides, he is my “One” so I can deal with the occasional “frustration”.

I regard him as a gift and I never hesitate to tell him as much. Life has been an interesting journey for me and Great Expectations was only the beginning of one of the most important blessings in my life!
